a residential development for riyadh, conceived as a single monolith into which life is carved, dwellings that can stand alone or read as one ensemble. each unfolds along a linear plan toward the city, anchored by staircases that rise like a spine. the upper floor opens into a panoramic living space and spills onto a sheltered porch crowned by an oculus, drawing the sky down into the rooms. above, the roof becomes an open chamber, its parapets thickened into long tables that command the horizon, like the bridge of a ship over the city. the private quarters settle below in counterpoint. the windows are pressed to vanish into the facade, and jasmine and bougainvillea are left to cloak the mass until built and grown become one.
